First-aid measures

General Instructions
In case of health problems or in case of doubt seek medical advice and provide information from this Safety Data Sheet. Support vital functions (heartbeat monitoring, artificial respiration, heart massage) until medical help arrives. If the victim is unconscious or the hazard of unconsciousness exists, transport the victim to a physician in the stabilized position. In case of 1st degree burns (painful redness) and 2nd degree burns (painful blisters), cool the affected skin under running water for a long time. In case of 3rd degree burns (blackening, pale skin crumbling away, usually painless) do not cool the affected skin, only cover it with clean tissue. Keep the victim warm.

If inhaled
Get the victim to fresh air, keep him/her absolutely calm, inhalation of oxygen. Keep the victim warm in a half-sitting position.
SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS: headache, dizziness, nausea, irritation of the airways and eyes – cough, lacrimation

Skin exposure
Wash skin exposed to the cold product thoroughly with soap and water for 10 – 15 minutes.
If the skin was exposed to the melt or has suffered mild burns, cool it quickly with cold water and cover with sterile dressing. See also General Instructions above . Get medical attention immediately.
SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS: melt: burns; solid product: may cause irritation

Eye contact
Rinse the eye (from the inner to the outer corner) with large amounts of lukewarm water or saline for 10 – minutes.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them immediately. Get medical attention.
SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS: eye lens may suffer cataract

When swallowed
Have the victim drink approx. 2 dl of water. Get medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
SIGNS AND EFFECTS: abdominal pain, vomiting, hemolysis, kidney and/or liver damage

Other information
Information for the physician: When swallowed, apply 20 tablets of crushed activated carbon; when inhaled causing intoxication, apply prophylactically inhalation corticosteroids (e.g. beclomethason – Aldecine) and saline with 5% Panthenol.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media
Dry powder or CO2, heavy foam in the event of large fire. Cool tanks and containers with water curtain.

Extinguishing media to avoid
Water jet.

Special hazards
The product burns producing toxic combustion products and fumes. Hazard of formation of explosive product-air mixtures.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters
Intervention in the hazard zone requires a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical overpressure clothing.

Other information
Flammability class: III
Temperature class: T1
Explosion group: IIA

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions
Enclose the site of accident. Keep unauthorized persons away. Intervening personnel should use a self-contained breathing apparatus, complete chemical clothing and emergency personal protection equipment. Remove or deactivate any potential sources of ignition. Put leaking truck tanks to a safe place and stop liquid leaking by closing or sealing the leaking site. Monitor the concentration of the substance in the working environment constantly.

Environmental precautions
Prevent the product from entering drains and the sewer system, surface waters, ground waters and soil. In case of a major leak take emergency alarm measures.

Recommended clean-up and disposal methods
Confine the leaked liquid and pump into a suitable container for processing or disposal, absorb with a suitable porous material (sand, Vapex, diatomaceous earth). Store or handle in a well ventilated area. Dispose of in compliance with applicable waste handling legislation

Handling and storage

Handle in compliance with ČSN 65. 0201. Ensure good vapour and working environment exhaust, prevent vapours from leaking to the air. Use personal protective equipment (Section 8). When handling, prevent the product from leaking (drops), prevent contact with naked flames, sparks or hot surfaces.

Store in compliance with ČSN 65 0201. Ensure efficient ventilation of the storage area. Use personal protective equipment. Store in well-sealed containers and tanks.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Employee exposure controls
Collective exposure controls:
Global and local ventilation, efficient gas exhaust, automation, hermetization.

Individual exposure controls:
Employees must have available eye, hand and skin protecting personal protective equipment (PPE) in dependence on the activities performed. In addition, suitable respiratory protection must be applied at sites where compliance with the specific exposure limits cannot be ensured or where potentially harmful respiratory exposure cannot be ruled out. Safety breaks must be made during uninterrupted use of the protective equipment if the PPE requires so. All PPE must be maintained usable. Any damaged or contaminated PPE must be replaced immediately.

• Respiratory protection: During short exposure or at low concentrations, use a mask with a filter against organic vapours. High concentrations and/or long exposures require a self-contained breathing apparatus.
• Eye protection: Safety shield or safety glasses.
• Hand protection: Protective chemical gloves (Glove material:Fluoroelastomer; Layer thickness: 0-0,65 mm; Time of penetration:480 minutes)
• Skin protection:  Protective rubber clothing and working rubber shoes/boots. Protect exposed skin with a protective cream prior to work.
• Other recommendations: Eye bath, safety shower
• General safety and health protection measures: Comply with personal hygiene rules. When handling, do not eat, drink or smoke! After work and before eating or drinking, wash hands and exposed parts of your body thoroughly, use a repair cream as appropriate.

Environmental exposure controls
Comply with applicable clean air and clean water legislation.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions in which the product is stable
Normal physico-chemical conditions

Conditions to avoid
Contact with flames, high temperature, possibility of formation of the explosive vapour-air mixture

Materials to avoid
Strong oxidants, strong concentrated acids

Hazardous decomposition products
Decomposes at temperatures above the beginning of the distillation interval. Combustion produces toxic gases and fumes.

Disposal considerations

Recommended disposal methods
Handle in compliance with applicable legislation on wastes and other environmental protection laws and regulations. Handle leaked product as described in Section Accidental Release Measures, then transfer to an organization authorized to handle hazardous waste. Recommended disposal pathways: so as to make use of the material and/or energy of the product. Request supplementary information from the manufacturer.
Recommended waste classification under Decree No. 381/2001: 07 01 08*, 07 01 99*, 16 05 08*

Contaminated packaging disposal methods
Use truck tanks only following cleaning in authorized cleaning stations. In case of use of a different container proceed as when disposing of the product. Recommended waste packaging classification pursuant to Decree No. 381/2001: 15 01 10*.
