Diisopropylbenzene (DIPB) does not undergo significant abiotic hydrolysis. Biodegradation in a ready biodegradation study showed only 3% degradation over three days, but this is likley affected by the substances low water solubility (<0.1 mg/L). DIPB has a potential to bioconcentrate with experimental results in fish ranging from approximately 500 -3000. DIPB also has a relatively high log Koc value of 3.8 suggesting a tendency to sorb to soils and sediments.
