Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

LD50/LC50 (4 -h) values are based on animal test data for acute toxicity.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Value:
866 mg/kg bw

Acute toxicity: via inhalation route

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed
Value:
14 700 mg/m³ air
Quality of whole database:
This value is for a 4-h LC50

Acute toxicity: via dermal route

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Value:
560 mg/kg bw

Additional information

In an acute inhalation toxicity test, an 8h LC50 value was calculated as the geometric mean of the LC0 and LC100 value. Calculation using Haber's law, C*t =k (with 'n' is equal to 1), a 4h LC50 value of 14.7 mg/L was obtained. This is supported by another study, with an 8h LC0 value of 11 mg/L.

For acute oral toxicity as a worst case the lowest LD50 was selected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The following classifications should be used: acute oral and inhalation toxicity GHS cat. 4, for acute dermal toxicity GHS cat. 3.
