Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice: Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Discard items which cannot be decontaminated, including leather articles such as shoes, belts and watchbands.
If dusts are inhaled in high concentrations: Take the person into the fresh air and keep him warm, let him rest; if there is difficulty in breathing, medical advice is required.
In case of skin contact: Wipe off mechanically and wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and plenty of water. Consult a doctor in the event of a skin reaction. In case of contact with molten product, immediately immerse in or flush affected area with large amounts of cool water and get medical attention.
In case of eye contact: Hold the eyes open and rinse with preferably lukewarm water for a sufficiently long period of time (at least 10 minutes). Remove contact lenses after the initial 1-2 minutes and continue flushing for several additional minutes. Contact an ophthalmologist.
If swallowed: DO NOT induce the patient to vomit, medical advice is required.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), foam, extinguishing powder, in cases of larger fires, water spray should be used.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet
Firemen must wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Do not allow contaminated extinguishing water to enter the soil, ground-water or surface waters.
Dust explosion hazard may result from forceful application of fire extinguishing agents.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Put on protective equipment (see section on exposure controls / personal protection). Ensure adequate ventilation/exhaust extraction. Keep away ignition sources. Keep unauthorised persons away.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow to escape into waterways, wastewater or soil.
Methods for cleaning up: Take up spilled product with dust-binding material or suitable vacuum cleaner. Avoid formation of dust. Fill into labelled, sealable containers. Also place used cleaning materials into closable receptacles.

Handling and storage
Handling
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Ensure adequate ventilation and, if necessary, exhaust ventilation when handling or transferring the product. Take measures to prevent dust formation; remove any dust with air extractors where it is formed. Contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of dust/vapour must be avoided. Prevent formation of explosive dust-air mixtures. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Spilled material may cause a slipping hazard.
Storage
Store in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep container dry and tightly closed in a cool and well ventilated place. Keep away from ignition sources.

- Special provisions / remarks / other:
- The substance must be stored in tightly closed containers even for internal transport. Suitable unbreakable packaging, protection against falling and proper labelling according to applicable regulations are required. Opened containers must be closed carefully to avoid spillage. Slight smell. Keep dry and away from foodstuffs, acids, alkalis and strong oxidising agents.
Exposure controls / personal protection
Technical measures: Local exhaust ventilation is required for sampling and (dis)charging operations to control airborne levels below the exposure guidelines.
Organisational measures: Procedural and/or control technologies are required to minimise emissions and the resulting exposure during cleaning and maintenance procedures or if there is a risk of the occupational exposure limit being exceeded. The substance is only available to industrial and professional users and is not made available to the do-it-yourself market. Persons who suffer from skin complaints or other hypersensitivity reactions of skin should not work with the product.
Respiratory protection: Wearing a filtering half mask with at least an FFP2 particle filter according to DIN EN 149 is required in presence of product dust.
Hand protection: Wearing of permeation resistant gloves with suitable materials for safety gloves is required. According to DIN EN 374-3 those are laminate gloves build up of PE/EVOH/PE (PE = Polyethylene; EVOH = ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer). Conditionally suitable materials for protective gloves following DIN EN 374-3 are nitrile rubber – NBR, with thickness of >= 0.35 mm. Breakthrough time of these gloves has not been tested. Disposal of gloves after contamination is recommended.
Eye protection: Wearing of eye/face protection is required. Chemical goggles should be consistent with EN 166 or equivalent.
Skin and body protection: Wearing of suitable protective clothing is required.
Hygiene measures: Keep away from foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco. Wash hands before breaks and at end of work and use skin-protecting ointment. Keep working clothes separately. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly after open handling of the product.
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition: Stable up to 200 °C.
Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products when stored and handled correctly. Formation of phenol and phenol−derivatives in the event of fire or during thermal decomposition.
Hazardous reactions: No hazardous reaction when used as directed.
Further information: Keep away from oxidising substances. The product can cause dust explosions.
Disposal considerations
Dispose in accordance with applicable international, national and local laws, ordinances and statutes. For disposal within the EC, the appropriate code according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) should be used.
