Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No data is currently available for alcohols, C9 -C11 (odd numbered), branched and linear, however data are available for nonanol, undecanol linear and branched and C9 -C11 multi-constituent analogue.

An EC50 value of 1 -10 mg/L has been estimated for nonanol. A range has been reported rather than a single value to reflect the uncertainty when extrapolating data from one trophic level to another.

An EC50 value in the range 0.1-1 mg/L has been estimated for the effects of the undecanol, linear and branched on algal growth. The estimate is based on expert judgement, which takes into consideration measured and predicted ecotoxicity values for other trophic levels and the relative susceptibility of algae compared to such trophic levels, in the same substance category. The estimation has been determined as a range due to the uncertainty associated with this kind of prediction.

A reliable 96 h EC50 value of 2.7 mg/L and a NOEC value of 1.0 mg/L based on growth rate have been determined for the effects of Alcohols, C9-11-linear and branched on the cell growth of the freshwater algae Selenastrum capricornutum (new name: Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata).

The data are read-across to alcohols, C9 -C11 (odd numbered), branched and linear.
