Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Pyrophoric substance (A13): No
Highly flammable solid (A10): No
In contact with water substance liberates highly flammable gases (A12): No

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

-Pyrophoric substance (A13): No (cobratec 435 is not flammable in contact with diatomite

-Highly flammable solid (A10): No (cobratec 435 is not highly flammable as it cannot sustain a burning reaction (burning stops after removal of the burner)

-In contact with water substance liberates highly flammable gases (A12): No (in none of the test series gases evolved in a perceptible amount).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The flash point study has not been conducted as the estimated flash point is above 200°C.

This estimated value is therefore outside the range for classification and labelling under the DSD (<55°C) and CLP (<60°C or >75°C).

Furthermore, Cobratec 435 is concluded not to have pirophoric properties not to be flammable in contact with water to produce a flammable gas and not considered to be highly flammable in accordance with EU Method A.10, A.12 and A.13.
