Description of key information

The surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test substance at 20 °C by the Wilhelmy plate method lies between 33.6 - 34.3 mN/m at 10 g/L solution, between 49.7 - 49.9 mN/m at 1 g/L solution, and between 70.0 - 71.7 mN/m at 0.1 g/L solution.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a GLP compliant study, performed according to EC method A.5, the surface tension of the test substance was determined using the Wilhelmy plate method (Ciba-Geigy 1994). The surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test substance at 20°C lies between 33.6 - 34.3 mN/m at 10 g/L solution, between 49.7 - 49.9 mN/m at 1 g/L solution, and between 70.0 - 71.7 mN/m at 0.1 g/L solution.
