Description of key information

Due to the rapid ionization in aqueous solution, phototransformation in soil is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Ammonium sulphate is rapidly dissociated in water, see chapter 5.1.2. Therefore, direct and indirect photodegradation are not considered as relevant degradation processes. Furthermore, studies on the phototransformation in water or soil are not required for a registration under REACH.
