On skin contact:
Immediately wash thoroughly with soap and water, seek medical attention.

On contact with eyes:
Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion:
Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, induce vomiting, seek medical attention.

Note to physician:
Hazards: Symptoms can appear later.
Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote, administer corticosteroid dose aerosol to prevent pulmonary odema. Medical monitoring for at least 24-48 hours.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
water

Additional information:
The product is sparingly soluble in water and is only covered.

Specific hazards:
carbon monoxide
The substances/groups of substances mentioned can be released in case of fire.

Special protective equipment:
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:
In case of combustion evolution of toxic gases/vapours possible. Keep people away and stay on the upwind side. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Do not allow to enter drains or waterways. Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:
For small amounts: Pick up with suitable absorbent material. After taking up material in containers, cover immediately with water layer. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.
For large amounts: Pump off product. After taking up material in containers, cover immediately with water layer. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling
Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas. Breathing must be protected when large quantities are decanted without local exhaust ventilation. Use only in enclosed systems.

Protection against fire and explosion:
Risk of self-ignition when a large surface area is produced due to fine dispersion. Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks, open flame. Fire extinguishers should be kept handy. If exposed to fire, keep containers cool by spraying with water.

Storage
Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from the effects of light. Protect from direct sunlight. Vapour space above liquid may be blanketed with inert gas.
