Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Low end Skeleton density is 1.81 g/ml for Syloid 244 FP, a gel type of SAS

High end Skeleton density is 2.38 g/ml for Aerosil 200, a pyrogenic type of SAS.

Similiar to the BET ranges also these density values represent an overall range of the various SAS products.

Lower values down to 1.1 g/ml can be found for colloidal SAS (e.g. Ludox AM). In this case this value refers to the suspension resp. the SAS concentration will drive here the density.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
