Description of key information
Flammability of charcoal was conducted according to EU A.10 test method and under GLP compliance. Three charcoal probes (Probe 1: C-Fix = 73.3%, Probe 2: C-Fix = 80.5%, and Probe 3: C-Fix = 88.7%) were tested. There were no ignitions in any of the charcoal probe tested. Therefore, charcoal should be considered as not flammable.

Determination of the flammability of charcoal was conducted according to EU A.10 test method and under the GLP compliance. Three charcoal probes (Probe 1: C-Fix = 73.3%, Probe 2: C-Fix = 80.5%, and Probe 3: C-Fix = 88.7%) were tested. When heated with the flame of a gas burner, red glowing of the test items were observed. After 2 min, the burner was taken away and flame died. The glowing continued for approx. 1-3 min. There were no ignitions in any of the charcoal probe tested. Grey residues were observed with each probe. Therefore, charcoal should be considered as not flammable.

There were no ignitions in any of the 3 charcoal probes tested. Therefore, charcoal should be considered as not flammable. Accordingly, charcoal is not classified for flammability.
