Description of key information

Hydrolysis rate of FeSi is slow. In one and seven days experiments at different pH values (1.4-7.4) all the tested smelted FeSi alloys were dissolved < 0.1% by mass (KTH 2009). The test method was OECD transformation dissolution screening test and screening of released metal components in synthetic biological media (< 1 mm FeSi particles) In comparison, melted product MgFeSi was dissolved > 10 % in the same test set.
