Additional information

Moles et al (1981) report a 96 hour LC50 of 5.5 mg/l for the freshwater Coho Salmon. This result was from a study using a flow through system with daily analytical confirmation of the exposure concentrations. A 24 hour LC50 for a marine species of 5.4 mg/L is reported by Thomas and Rice (1979). This study used a static exposure method, but did include analytical monitoring. The freshwater LC50 is selected as the key study, as was done in the EU RAR for toluene (2003).
