Additional information

Acute and chronic aquatic ecotoxicity data are available for algae, invertebrates and fish. The data indicate that algae are significantly less sensitive to toluene than either invertebrates or fish. The results for invertebrates and fish show similar sensitivity, with reported chronic effects (NOECs) seen at concentrations around a fifth lower than acute effects (LC50).
