Description of key information

The viscosity of "24.3 active chlorine" sodium hypochlorite was determined to be:
6.2 – 6.6 mPa.s (at 20°C ± 0.2°C)
4.0 mPa.s for a rotation of 200 rpm (at 40°C ± 0.2°C)
For lower purities of sodium hypochlorite (5 % and 14 %) also lower viscosity values were measured.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
6.4 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Guideline and GLP studies are available for various concentration of sodium hypochlorite. At 20°C, the viscosity of "24.3% active chlorine" sodium hyppchlorite was found to be
