Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

ErC50 (72h) > 1 mg/L and NOEC (72h, growth rate) = 0.18 mg/L for Selenastrum capricornutum (new name: Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) [EU Method C.3; test item: structural analogue with EC 413-750-2]

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the structural analogue to aquatic algae has been determined in a test with Selenastrum capricornutum (new name: Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) according to EU Method C.3. Since the values of ErC50 and EbC50 found at 72 h are above the solubility limit (> 1mg/L, NOEC (72h) = 0.18 mg/L) and since of the concentrations tested those around the solubility limit gave inhibitions ≤ 10% (both on the biomass and the growth rate), it was decided not to classify the substance. Since EC 700-397-7 is a near analogue to the test substance (EC 413-750-2), the experimental data from this substance were used in a read-across approach.
