Description of key information

For microbial assays, in total 23 individual high quality EC10 or NOEC values for 2 different processes are selected for the effects assessment of V in soil. Toxicity data derived in freshly spiked soils (15 observations) range from 3.2 mg added V/kg dw (for nitrification in a natural sandy soil from Belgium) to 670 mg added V/kg dw (for nitrification in a natural soil from Sweden). Reliable EC10 or NOEC values derived from soils where V had been equilibrated for more than 5 months (8 observations) range from 3.2 to 960 mg V/kg soil. All data are based on measured added V concentrations in soil.
