Acute toxicity data of amides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) tested with aquatic organisms are available on three trophic levels. The L(E)C50values are consistently within a range of 1-10 mg/L. The lowest L(E)C50value was found for fish with an LC50of 2.4 mg/L.The long-term aquatic toxicity NOEC in fish has been determined for the structural analogueC12-18(even-numbered) and C18-unsatd., N, N-bis(hydroxyethyl)to be 0.32 mg/L and that for Daphnia magna 0.07 mg/L.
