Description of key information

Based on the physicochemical properties, the members of theC4, high 1.3-butadiene (0.1%) can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (Kow < 3).

Based on the Henry's Law Constant range of 7150 to 98200 Pa m³/mol, the estimated half-life of streams in this category ranges from 45.4 to 46.7 minutes in a river and 69.9 to 72.4 hours in a lake. Based on Pedersen et al (1995), these substances would meet the criteria for total degradation of half-life <6 days, which is equivalent to removal from the water phase of >95% in 28 days, therefore the members in this category are not expected to be persistent in the environment.
