Additional information

Si/FeSi silicate is stabile oxidised inorganic substance which may undergo slow transformation processes in the environment. Abiotic (non-biological) degradation can typically occur by physico-chemical processes such as slow hydrolysis and dissolution. In the case of this substance physical aging/weathering processes may be also important in long term. Photodegradation is not an important fate process.
