Description of key information

Two separate peer-reviewed handbooks report that the substance has an auto ignition temperature of 399 °C to 455.6 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Information regarding auto flammability of IPA was sourced from two separate handbooks. CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (81st Ed.) and Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals (14th Ed.), which are known to contain peer-reviewed data of Klimisch-2 reliability report that the substance has an auto ignition temperature of 399 °C and 455.6 °C, respectively. This value is above boiling point of 82.5 °C, and represents the lowest temperature at which vapours of IPA will spontaneously ignite in a normal atmosphere without an external source of ignition.
