It is not expected that sediment compartment is a concern for SDA product. Due to the properties of the substance a hazard to sediment organisms is assumed to be low. Acute and chronic study results show that the substance has only a low toxicity for mammals and aquatic organisms. Hence, considering low concentrations in the aquatic environment and the most likely harmlessness of FBC Ash for sediment organisms, no exposure to sediment is expected (direct and indirect exposure of the sediment compartment is unlikely) and no long-term toxicity data for sediment organisms should be generated.
Further, due to the natural occurrence of FBC Ash constituents in the environment, it is expected that FBC Ash would not be toxic to sediment organisms.
