Additional information

It is reported that algae catalyze the phototransformation of aniline (Zepp and Schlotzhauer, 1983). However, only static tests without analytical dose verification were available for the assessment of algae toxicity. Therefore the nominal concentrations may overestimate the real effective concentrations for algae substantially. The study by Ramos et al. (1999) was considered as the most reliable among all algae tests, showing the lowest effect value based on growth rate. The algae test was conducted according to the OECD Guideline 201 (Alga, Growth Inhibition Test) 1984. An EC50concentration of 175 mg/L was determined.
