Direct degradation of 2 -butoxyethanol through photolysis is negligible. Despite a relatively high k(OH) of 1.15E09 M-1s-1) solar simulation and UV experiments indicate that in natural systems with [HO] within the typical range (10-18 M to 10-16 M), 2 -butoxyethanol is not expected to undergo significant, rapid degradation due to direct or indirect photolysis.
