2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ASTM D3278 (Standard test methods for flash point of liquids by small scale closed-cup apparatus)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
non-equilibrium method closed cup
Key result
Flash point:
212 °C

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point corrected to 101.325 kPa was determined to be 212 ⁰C +/- 2 ⁰C based on the three results presented in Table XII-1. Ambient atmospheric pressure was 97.5 kPa.

Description of key information

The flash point was determined using a closed cup non-equilibrium method with a Setaflash 70000-0 high temperature instrument. The method conforms to ASTM 3278.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
212 °C
