Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Short description of key information:
No considered to be genotoxic.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

‘Glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. (SDA Reporting Number: 01-001-00)’ and other structurally similar substances from the same read-across category did not exhibit any genotoxic activity in bacterial reverse mutation (Ames) assays,in vitromammalian chromosome aberration tests with Chinese hamster ovary cells and/or anin vivomouse micronucleus assay. Moreover, predicted genotoxicity data from Danish QSAR database and Toxtree (v.1.6) did not reveal any evidence for genotoxic activity in any of thein vitrobacterial or mammalian cell systems orin vivotest systems. This evidence, added to the very long history of safe use of these substances in nutritional (food and feed), cosmetic and industrial uses, suggests that ‘glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. (SDA Reporting Number: 01-001-00)’ does not have a mutagenic potential.

Based on the above information, the substance does not qualify for classification according to Directive 67/548/EC or Regulation 1272/2008/EC.
