Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The organic constituents of the registered substance are readily biodegradable, while the inorganic constituents dissociate in water to naturally occuring ions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Methyl ester of middle carbon chain fatty acids and corresponding fatty acids are highly biodegradable.

Methanol represents the smallest part of the organic constituents and is readily degradable under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions in a wide variety of environmental media including fresh and salt water, sediments and soils, ground water, aquifer material and industrial wastewater.
