Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Water solubility
Key result
Water solubility:
ca. 3.2 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat. (dissolved fraction)
Incubation duration:
ca. 1 d
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
ca. 7
Details on results:
The result 3.2 mg/L for the water solubility of sample 2704905_002 is approx. a magnitude lower than the precalculated solubility for pure decanoic acid with 47.9 mg/L. The most probable reason is the disproportion between water and sample phase in the stored four individual flasks (see page 4). The upper organic layer might be much more attractive for the decanoic acid than the water phase.
