Description of key information

No data available for the parent substance. Data of the component melamine indicate a low toxicity of to terrestrial plants.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Data on the toxicity to terrestrial plants are available for melamine.

Koch 1986: The toxicity to plants (root growth reduction) was determined after 96 hours of exposure of barleyn wheat and radish to Melamine. The EC50 was ca. 530 mg/L groundwater and above.

Jansen 1982: The toxicity of melamine (in Melafslik) was tested in peas and beans. The toxicity limit was at ca. 170 mg/kg soil.
