Administrative data

Endpoint:
acute toxicity: dermal
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical and toxicological properties suggest no potential for a significant rate of absorption through the skin

Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
practically nontoxic
Remarks:
Migrated information Criteria used for interpretation of results: expert judgment
Conclusions:
Testing of acute dermal toxicity is waived based on the fact that FMMVF fibres are inorganic fibres, whose physicochemical properties suggest a low potential to cross biological membranes and consequently a low potential for absorption through the skin. FMMVF fibres are assessed to have no acute toxicity by skin contact.
