Toxicity to microorganisms has been tested (according to EU Method C.11) with a sample of activated sludge from a domestic waste water treatment plant over a 3 hour period at nominal concentrations from 100-10000 mg/l. D-Glucitol, propoxylated showed 0% respiration inhibition of activated sludge at a concentration of 10000 mg/l, EC50 > 10000 mg/l. In another study (German Water Hazard Classification), the 18 hour EC10 to Pseudomonas putida was 2400 mg/l (estimated).
