- Test O.1 of UN-MTC Section 34 was performed with substance as received (decahydrate, white granules). Both the 1:1 and the 4:1 sample-to-cellulose ratio (by mass) exhibited a mean burning time more than the burning time of a 3:7 mixture (by mass) of potassium bromate and cellulose. Therefore it could be concluded that CN-Nitacal is not an oxidising substance.

UN 1454 (Calcium nitrate) -Special Provisions 34: The commercial grade of calcium nitrate fertilizer, when consisting mainly of a double salt (calcium nitrate and ammonium nitrate) containing not more than 10 percent ammonium nitrate and at least 12 percent water of crystallization, is not subject to the requirements of this subchapter.
Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on UN test results, nitric acid, ammonium calcium salt does not have to be classified according to the CLP Regulation for oxidising properties.
