- LOQ Test item: 2 mg C/L corresponding to 2.6 mg test item/L
- Conclusions:
- Under the study conditions, the water solubility of test substance was determined to be 31 mg/L at 20 ± 2°C.
- Executive summary:
The water solubility of 'oils, vegetable, deodorizer distillates' in water was determined according to OECD Guideline 105 and EU Method A.6. The water solubility of test substance was estimated to be lower than 0.01 g/L in a preliminary test (non-GLP). Therefore, the column elution method was first selected for the main test. However, the column elution method was found to be not feasible and thus the flask method was finally used for the determination of the water solubility. The saturation mass concentration was estimated using the TOC method. Under the conditions of the study, the water solubility of test substance was determined to be 31 mg/L at 20 ± 1°C (Mollandin, 2010a).

Description of key information
The water solubility of 'oils, vegetable, deodorizer distillates' in water was determined according to OECD Guideline 105 and EU Method A.6.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Water solubility:
- 40 mg/L
- at the temperature of:
- 20 °C
Additional information
Water solubility values of the test substance and category members are as follows:
Oils, vegetable deodoriser distillates = 31 mg/L
Glycerides, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., deodorizer distillates = 6.4 mg/L
Lauric fats deodorizer distillates = 40 mg/L
Soybean oil, deodorizer distillates = 28 mg/L
The higher value of 40 mg/L was selected for the chemical safety assessment which will represent higher exposure to water, STP as well as absorption potential in human body.
