Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with copious volumes of water for at least 15 minutes.
If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water. If irritation
persists, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink water to dilute the substance, seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray should be used to extinguish fires.
Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and full
protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Dyke and contain spill with inert material (eg sand or
earth). Transfer waste to containers for either recovery or
disposal by incineration. Keep spills and run-off from
cleaning operations from entering sewers or water courses.
Handling and storage
Handling: Use engineering controls to minimise any possibility of
exposure. Wear impervious gloves (eg nitrile or butyl
rubber), apron and goggles when handling the substance
(ensure area is well ventilated).
Storage: Indoor storage is preferred. The temperature should be
maintained between 0 and 50 deg C.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Avoid strong oxidising agents.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse if possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal. An incineration temperature
of 1000 deg C is recommended. Waste gas treatment to remove
nitrogen oxides should be used.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
