First-aid measures

General advice:

- Consult a physician.

- Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

If inhaled:

- Move to fresh air.

- Consult a physician after significant exposure

- In case of shortness of breath, give oxygen.

In case of skin contact:

- Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

- Wash off immediately with plenty of water.

In case of eye contact:

- If applicable, remove contact lenses.

- Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

- Get medical attention.

If swallowed:

- Do not induce vomiting without medical advice.

- Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

- Consult a physician if necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media: Use ABC powder, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray or foam for small fires; water spray, fog or foam for large fires.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Halons

Specific hazards during firefighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Hazardous combustion products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide

Special Protective Equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing, including self-contained breathing equipment.

Further information:

- Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray.

- Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

- Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautionary Measures:

- Use appropriate protective equipment.

- Persons not wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until clean-up has been completed.

Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods for cleaning up:

- Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

- Large spills should be collected mechanically (remove by pumping) for disposal.

- Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

- Do not breathe vapours or spray mist.

- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

- For personal protection see section 8.

- Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

- Avoid exceeding the given occupational exposure limits (see section 8).

- Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Storage:

- Store in original container.

- Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

- Specific conditions: Storage temperatures in the 18ºC (65ºF) to 24ºC (75ºF) range are suggested to facilitate transferring the product. Storage at temperatures below 14°C requires thawing and mixing prior to use, with no detrimental effect to product quality or efficacy.

- German storage class: 6.1D Non-combustible, acute toxic Cat.3 / toxic hazardous materials or hazardous materials causing chronic effects.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures: Provide sufficient mechanical (general and/or local exhaust) ventilation to maintain exposure below level of overexposure (from known, suspected or apparent adverse effects).

Hand protection:

- In case of full contact: Nitrile rubber, Break through time: 240 min, Glove thickness: 0,38 mm

- In case of contact through splashing: Nitrile rubber, Break through time: 10 min, Glove thickness: 0,12 mm

- When skin contact may occur, inner gloves should be used to increase protection and disposable polyethylene (PE) gloves are generally recommended.

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields

Skin and body protection: Wear as appropriate: Safety shoes

Hygiene measures:

- Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.

- When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

- Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.

Chemical stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide

Disposal considerations

Environmental exposure controls:

- General advice: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Waste treatment methods:

- Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste.

- Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used container.

- Container can be hazardous when empty.

- Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Contaminated packaging:

- Empty remaining contents.

- Dispose of as unused product.

- Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.

- Do not re-use empty containers.

- Do not burn, or use a cutting torch on, the empty drum.
