Conclusion on classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), classification for acute aquatic toxicity applies to substances with EC50/LC50 values below 1 mg/l in one of the 3 trophic levels. Based on available data, no classification for acute aquatic toxicity is needed.

In case of lack of chronic data and for non readily biodegradable substances, classification is based on acute toxicity data. In particular, classification in category chronic 2 applies for EC50/LC50 values between 1 and 10 mg/l. Based on a 96 -hour LC50 value of 3 mg/l for freshwater fish the substance has to be classified as: hazardous to the aquatic environment (long-term) – cat. 2 with hazard statement H411: toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
