Several publications and case reports indicate a skin sensitising potential of the substance (or preparations containing the substance) in humans supporting the skin sensitising effects observed in animal studies (Schnuch et al., 1998; Roed-Petersen, 1977; deGroot et al., 1986; Dahl, 1981; Aalto-Korte et al., 2008; Latorre et al. 2011). Accordingly, the substance is classified as skin sensitiser and labelled Skin sens. Cat. 1 (Regulation (EU) No 1272/2008).
