Description of key information

Diacides AGS is not "highly flammable" under the conditions of the test.
The composition of Diacides AGS is as follows: 51.6% glutaric acid, 23.5% adipic acid, 16.6% succinic acid (Rhodia, 2008).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance has not to be classified concerning flammable solids, pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water.

The determination of the flammability was determined using a powder train about 250 mm long in accordance with EEC Directive 92/69 Appendix V part A 10. The test item didn't burn. It melts in contact of the ignition source. No further testing was required.

Dicarboxylic acids are not highly flammable under the conditions of the test (Rhodia, 2008b).

The substance contains no metals or metalloids and therefore will not release flammable gases in contact with water (Currenta, 2009).

Experience in production or handling; substance is known to be stable at room temperature. The substance is manufactured and handled under normal atmospheric conditions. According to experiences from manufacturing, the substance does not have pyrophoric properties (Currenta, 2009).
