Description of key information

Read-across from Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide (EC 423-570-6): 
* First study: No visible effects occurred during the 96-hour test period (OECD 203, static, according to GLP). Hence, the 96h-LC50 for carp exposed to Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate- hydroxide-(hydrate) was > 100 mg/L, the highest loading rate tested.
* Second study: Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide-(hydrate) induced no visible effects in sheepshead minnow at a prepared concentration (loading rate) of 100 mg/L (OECD 203, static, according to GLP). Hence, the 96h-LC50 for sheepshead minnow exposed to Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide-(hydrate) exceeded the soluble concentration present at the highest loading rate.
Read-across from Alcamizer 5 (EC 422-150-1):
ALCAMIZER 5 did not induce acute effects in carp at a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L (OECD 203 and GLP guidelines). The 96h-LC50 for carp exposed to ALCAMIZER 5 was above a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L.
Overall conclusion: LC50 > solubility limit in test medium

Additional information

Based on reliable studies with Alcamizer5 and Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide, both analogue substances,

[carbonato(2-)]hexadecahydroxybis(aluminium)hexamagnesium is considered to have an LC50 > 100 mg/L (i.e. > its solubility limit in test medium) in freshwater and marine water fish, respectively.
