Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH annex IX, the short-term toxicity to invertebrates test (soil macroorganisms, required in section 9.4.1) is not necessary as direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. The chemical safety assessment does not indicate the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or degradation products on terrestrial organisms. In addition, low exposure is garanteed , as no sludge application from STP on soil will be done and aerial deposition is negligible. Further, as the substance cyanuric chloride degradates rapidly in contact with water (hydrolysis) the direct exposure of terrestrial arthopods to cyanuric chloride is highly unlikely. Studies on the long-term and the short-term aquatic toxicity show that the hydrolysis products of cyanuric chloride do not have severe adverse effects.
