Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In accordance with REACH Regulation 1907/2006, Annex X, Column 2, studies of the effects on sediment organisms need be conducted if exposure assessment indicates a concern for exposure to that environmental compartment. The physico-chemical properties of the substance, together with fugacity modelling, indicate that it may be expected to be distributed into sediment should environmental release occur. There is the potential of adsorption to sediment and it cannot be assumed that, in tests on sediment organisms, exposure through sediment pore water will not differ significantly from that in the overlaying water. As a result, potential effects on the sediment reworker, Chironomus riparius, have been investigated. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC), based on the number of emerged adult insects, mean emergence time (development rate) and sex ratio of emerged adults, was 1000 mg/kg dry weight based on the nominal concentration, and 740 mg/kg dry weight based on the mean measured concentration of the substance in sediment.
