Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of classification:
harmonised classification
Remarks:
beryllium, classification listed in Annex VI, table 3.1 of regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008.
The substance is listed in Annex VI, table 3.1 of regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008. This classification and labeling is presented here. As the underlying database for derivation of the official classification is unknown to the SIEF of the substance beryllium "data lacking" was chosen, where no classification is given in CLP Annex VI, table 3.1.
Additionally, where classification is provided in the table, there is no information available to the members of the SIEF as to why and how the basis for the endpoint classifications were determined within the EU. However, based on the results of the data generated to comply with the REACH requirements and all available relevant data which are relevant for the hazard assessment of beryllium the Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) of beryllium concluded that classification of beryllium should be changed according to CLP article 37(6). The corresponding classification and labeling is presented below under the name " beryllium, pure substance, proposal for revised classification according to article 37(6) based on available information"
