Administrative data
First-aid measures
· Description of first aid measures
· General information:
First aid personnel should pay attention to their own safety.
Symptoms of poisoning may occur even after several hours; therefore medical observation is suggested for at least 48 hours after
the accident.
Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
After inhalation:
Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist.
In case of unconsciousness, place patients on their side in a stable position for transportation.
· After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
· After eye contact: Rinse the eyes with open eyelids for 10 - 15 minutes with water. Then consult a doctor (eye specialist).
· After swallowing:
Drink lots of water and provide fresh air. Call a doctor immediately.
Induce vomiting if person is conscious. Seek medical help.
A person vomiting while lying on the back should be turned onto the side.

Liver and renal malfunctions

· Danger: If swallowed or in case of vomiting, danger of entering the lungs.
· Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
In cases of irritation to the lungs, initial treatment with Dexametason metered aerosol.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
· Suitable extinguishing agents:
CO2, extinguishing powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
Use fire fighting measures that suit the environment.
· For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents:
High volume water jet
· Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
In case of fire the following can be released:
Nitrous gases. Persons who may have inhaled nitrous gases are to be laid down and kept rested. Call a doctor immediately.
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Nitrogen oxide (NOx)
During heating or in case of fire, poisonous gases are produced.
Persons who have inhaled fire effluents require medical observation for at least 48 hours. Symptons of poisoning may even occur several hours after the accident.
· Advice for firefighters
· Protective equipment:
Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Wear a fully protective suit.
Do not inhale combustion vapours.
· Additional information:
Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.
Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter the sewage system.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Do not breathe aerosol or vapors
Do not smoke - keep ignition sources away.
· Environmental precautions:
Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course.
Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system.
Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil.
In case of seepage into the ground inform responsible authorities
· Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Absorb with non-combustible material like sand, soil or diatomite.
Make sure to recycle or dispose of in suitable receptacles.

Handling and storage
Handling:
· Precautions for safe handling
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Open and handle receptacle with care.
Ensure good interior ventilation, especially at floor level. (Fumes are heavier than air).
Keep receptacles tightly sealed.
Restrict the quantity stored at the work place.
Use solvent-proof equipment.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Avoid inhalation of vapours.
Observe the special requirements for handling carcenogenic, mutagenic chemical substances and those toxic to reproduction as outlined in directive 90/394/EEC in its current version.
· Information about protection against explosions and fires:
Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.
Protect against electrostatic charges.
Keep respiratory protective device available.
Flammable gas-air mixtures may be formed in empty receptacles.
No welding.
Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection.
Work on containers and pipelines is permitted only after thorough purging and inerting.
Use explosion-proof apparatus / fittings and spark-proof tools.

Breathing equipment:
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use a respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use a respiratory protective device that is independent of circulating air.

Breathing equipment is only to be used in order to handle the residual risk of short-term jobs if all other risk minimizing measures have been carried out e. g. retention and/or local exhaust.
· Protection of hands:
Solvent resistant gloves
Check the permeability before using the gloves again.
The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation
Preventive skin protection by use of skin-protecting agents is recommended.
After use of gloves apply skin-cleaning agents and skin cosmetics.

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
· Penetration time of glove material:
480 min. BR (≥ 0,5 mm)
The exact penetration time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
· Not suitable are gloves made of the following materials:

Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
· Recommendation:
Must not be disposed of together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.
After prior treatment product has to be disposed of in an incinerator for hazardous waste adhering to the regulations pertaining to the disposal of particularly hazardous waste.
· Uncleaned packagings:
· Recommendation:
Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
Only dispose of completely empty packagings.
Packagings that cannot be cleaned are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
· Recommended cleansing agent:
Water; if necessary, with cleansing agents.
