Description of key information

Additional information

A new algae study has been performed by Hoffmann and Deierling (2010, No. 55611210) on Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata for the amine heads category member HMD. The study was completed according to internationally accepted guidelines and GLP. Chemical analysis demonstrated stability of the test item throughout the test period of 72 hours. Caution was taken to adjust the pH in test solutions due to the strong caustic properties of the test substance. The biological results showed 8.9% of growth rate inhibition at the highest tested concentration (100 mg/L) leading to a calculated EC10(72 h, growth rate) of 118 mg/L (IC95% = 108 - 130 mg/L). Yet, due to very low statistical spread of replicate results, the NOEC (72 h, growth rate) was statistically estimated to be 10 mg/L.
