Diethyl ether has a very high volatility (see section 4.6) and low Log Pow (1.05 at 20 °C). Consequently, also the LOG Koc is low and adsorption to soil and sediment is not significant. This is confirmed by the outcome of the chemical safety assessment and consequently testing of toxicity to soil macro-organisms, terrestrial arthropods and terrestrial plants is scientifically unjustified.
