Description of key information

86.8 Pa m3/mol at 23 °C (Nielsen)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
86.8
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

A fairly broad range of values have been reported for the Henry's Law constant (Handbook of Physical-Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals, Vol. III, Oxygen Containing Compounds, 2nd Ed., 2006, CRC Press, p2267; NIST Chemistry Webbook). The value by Nielsen (1994) is taken as one of the few experimentally determined values.

The Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, Appendix R.7.1 -4 indicates that substances with a Henry's Law constant of around 100 Pa m3/mol will volatilise from water rapidly.
