Description of key information

Studies conducted in accordance with US EPA standard (and compliant with EU and OECD guidelines) on 4 species of fish: Fathead minnow , Bluegill sunfish, Sheepshead minnow or Rainbow trout.
The test with bluegill sunfish (Lepomis macrochirus) was performed in static conditions. No solvent was used and care was taken to avoid remaining floating test chemical. The reported 96 h LC50 value (0.48 mg/L) was based on measured test concentration.
As the study was performed according to standards and GLP procedure but no detailled information were given in the publication, therefore, the results are considered as reliable with restriction.

Additional information

Short-term toxicity studies for fish are also summarised in EU RAR, where the lowest observed LC50 for fish was reported as 0.35 mg/L for Perca flavescens under flow through condition (Mayer and Ellersieck, 1986). This result is similar as the lowest observed LC50 value (0.48mg/L) in 96 hours test with bluegill sunfish.
