Description of key information
Strontium ferrite encapsulated in alginate did not show cytotoxicity.
Additional information
The cytotoxicity test was performed as an agar overlay test in accordance with ISO 10993 Part 5. The decolorization and lysis indices were determined under light microscope. Encapsulated strontium ferrite (particle size 0.45 µm) revealed decolorization index 0 and lysis index 0 and thus showed to be non-cytotoxic under the conditions of this medical study.
