In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. The substance is already tested to be readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Hence, no further testing on biodegradation in soil is performed.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, a biodegradation in soil study does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Sodium formate is already tested to be readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Hence, no further testing on biodegradation in soil is performed.
