Description of key information

According to ECHA's "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment - Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment", lack of degradation (<20 % degradation) in an inherent biodegradability test equivalent to the OECD 302 series would provide sufficient information to confirm persistence without the need for further simulation testing. As lack of degradation was proven by the Klimisch-1-rated inherent biodegradability study of Eisner, 2010. In addition, a water/sediment study according to OECD 308 was performed. In this study BMDBM reached a half-life of up to 152 days in sediment. Based on these data, the substance meets the criteria for persistence in sediment and further simulation testing shall not be considered.
